New Arm

That's the only real change on this one. Come along people, don't spare my blushes.

I like the angle that you used. This illustration reminds me of something from Desperate Housewives.

I like the new arm. She looks mostly dead. Should she be holding something? A clue?

These are great! I've been away for a few days and saw all three at once. The angle, the colors, the tree. . .all make a terrific image.

Stephen,
I'm sorry but Day 2 looks better all the way around. Put them side by side.

Hi Stephen,
I personally like day two better. I'm into colors and just love the colors in Day Two. The new arm works. Thanks for sharing this progress with us.

...agreeing with the day 2 comments but still not convinced by that arm. It's the focal point of the illustration and needs to look more convincing I think. What I'm not getting is how the arm is connected to a body in the car. Is it male or female? Is the body on the back seat...or on the floor of the car? The other detail in the illustration is interesting but cluttering the impact. I think it could all go a lot darker with light being cast across the car, highlighting the arm. It might be a cliche but that's what these book covers are about isn't it? Come on Steve I know you can do it!

Thanks guys, I will say that the color in the new version has more to do with the time of day I took the picture with my digital camera, I didn't change to color at all, only the arm.

I'm still working away on it so I'll be posting it again soon.

Steve, I know where you're coming from and I'll attempt to have a go at it. As for the position of the arm.I'm putting it down to artistic license because when I tried to get Angie to pose in the car for me it never really gave me what I was looking for so I went with something a little less literal. I'll keep chipping away whilst I have time and then maybe rework it after I have submitted the finish.

Stay tuned and thanks.

I am confident the finished item will be fantastic.

I really enjoy the feed back Steve so keep it coming. I'm going to press on with the painting today to see where I can take it. These days I don't get too many of these so I have to make the most of them.
Fraser, thanks.
